today, apple started MacBook Pro and Mac mini models, with new M2 Pro and M2 Max chips, at their traditional January launch event.

The M2 Pro and M2 Max SoCs (system on chip) seek to scale the architecture of the current M2 and M1 chips to provide customers with more powerful and power-efficient performance. Macbook Pro And mac mini,

In 2020, Apple abandoned Intel’s semiconductor technology to increase production of in-house designed chips.

“Only Apple is making SoCs like the M2 Pro and M2 Max. They deliver industry-leading power efficiency as well as incredible pro performance,” said Johnny Sorji, Apple’s senior vice president of hardware technologies.

The M2 Pro is capable of up to 12-core CPU and 19-core GPU along with 32GB of fast integrated memory. The M2 Max builds on the capabilities of the M2 Pro to deliver a 38-core GPU, double the integrated memory bandwidth, and up to 96GB of integrated memory.

While the M2 Pro can power faster performance for running heavy workloads on Adobe, for example, or compiling in Xcode, the M2 Max can tackle graphics-intensive projects such as visual effects, training machine learning models, or gigapixels. Stitching the images together, Apple says.

The new chips help the MacBook Pro achieve “the longest battery life ever in a Mac,” up to 22 hours, resulting in less time required for charging and reduced energy consumption, according to Apple. According

The MacBook Pro starts at C$2599, comes in 14″ and 16″ models, and customers can choose either the M2 Pro or M2 Max depending on their performance needs.

The Mac mini, with the M2 Pro or M2 Max, starts at $799, and “makes everyday tasks blazing fast – from launching apps and multitasking between browsing the web”, Apple said.

Both computers can be ordered today and will be available in Apple Stores and Authorized Resellers on January 24.
