Mars planetA non-profit that supports high-growth startups in the health, cleantech and fintech sectors and tackles scale-up issues, has announced the launch. development acceleration programA multi-sector initiative designed to support executives on their way to scaling, high-growth companies reaching C$20 million in revenue.
Development Acceleration Program, funded by feddev ontarioIdeal for ventures with total funding of C$10 to C$20 million and/or annual recurring revenue of C$5 to C$20 million that have a core product to market with traction beyond early customers.
“Given the state of today’s economic climate, it has never been more important to support Canadian enterprises. We need to help companies look beyond the capital markets for economic opportunities, to really be able to identify threats and risks to their business models,” Christa Jones, Chief Delivery Officer, Ventures & Ecosystem Group , MaRS said. “This program will equip companies with the necessary tools of business fundamentals to adapt their growth to whatever market conditions arise.”
The program supports ventures within the Canadian ecosystem, and provides them with one-on-one expert advice on topics such as revenue and growth strategies, marketing and branding, media opportunities, international expansion and data tools.
“By guiding the founders and their teams and ensuring their systems and processes drive their desired outcomes and valuation milestones, these companies have a world-class range,” said Dennis Ensing, Chief Venture Advisor and Vice President of Venture. According to participating member Louis Brun, co-founder, president and CEO of Sollum Technologies, the knowledge provided by the program will help his company succeed and grow.

There is no cost to join, and there is no set timeline for the program; MaRs will work with companies based on their priorities and timelines.
