Hurun Most Valuable Companies List: According to Hurun India’s ‘2022 Burgundy Pvt Hurun India 500’, Mukesh Ambani-led Reliance Industries Limited is the most valuable listed company among India’s top 500 companies. The list released on Thursday said that Tata Consultancy Services and HDFC Bank are at the second and third positions.
As per the details, Reliance Industries was valued at Rs 17.3 lakh crore and is about Rs 5 lakh crore, or 47 per cent, more valuable than second-placed Tata Consultancy Services, which was valued at Rs 11.6 lakh crore. According to the report, the value of HDFC Bank is Rs 8.3 lakh crore.
Infosys, with a value of Rs 6.4 lakh crore, and ICICI Bank, with a value of Rs 6.3 lakh crore, are at the fourth and fifth positions in the list.
Other companies that made it to the top 10 list are: Bharti Airtel, Housing Development Finance Corporation, ITC, Adani Total Gas and Adani Enterprises.
The total value of the top 10 companies was the same as last year and stood at Rs 72.0 lakh crore, which accounts for 37 per cent of India’s GDP and 31 per cent of the total value of the 2022 Burgundy Pvt Hurun India 500, the report said.
Companies headed by Gautam Adani
The report pointed out that out of the total six companies, four were Adani group companies whose value increased by Rs 1 lakh crore.
Adani group companies posted highest year-on-year profit in absolute terms. Adani Total Gas raised Rs 2.3 lakh crore, followed by Adani Enterprises with Rs 2.1 lakh crore, Adani Transmission with Rs 1.7 lakh crore and Adani Green Energy with Rs 1.4 lakh crore.

The combined value of the top 10 most valuable Indian enterprises has grown by 262 per cent in the last decade. The minimum threshold to make it into the 2022 Burgundy Pvt Hurun India 500 was Rs 6,000 crore, which was 15 per cent higher than last year’s cutoff price. Around 42 per cent of the 2022 Burgundy Pvt Hurun India 500 companies are run by professional CEOs, as against 38 per cent last year.
The report said that in the last one year, the companies included in the list have created around 3.9 lakh new jobs. Around 11.6 lakh women are employed in top companies, which is a milestone in itself.
