Serum Institute, BYJU’S, Swiggy, OYO among the top unlisted companies: Burgundy Private-Hurun

Serum Institute, BYJU’S, Swiggy, OYO are among the top unlisted companies in the country. With a valuation of Rs 2.19 lakh crore, Adar Poonawalla-led Pune-based Serum Institute of India Burgundy Pvt topped the Hurun India 500 Top 10 Unlisted Companies list.

The report states that with an overall ranking of 22, Serum Institute is one of the largest companies in healthcare. It is the 19th largest beneficiary in terms of Rs crore with a change of over Rs 36,300 crore. Serum is also the 17th highest net profit company in FY22 with Rs 11,116 crore. It is the ninth largest direct taxpayer with Rs 5,823 crore in FY22. It is also the Top-Most Bootstrapped Company of 2022.

Byju Ravindran’s edtech company BYJU’S is at number two with Rs 1.82 lakh crore. BYJU’S is also the most valuable PE/VC funded company. It was the 13th largest gainer with a change of over Rs 47,200 crore. This 2022 Burgundy Pvt is ranked 24th on the Hurun India 500.

BYJU’S is followed by National Stock Exchange of India headed by Ashish Kumar Chauhan with a valuation of Rs 1.39 lakh crore.

The food-delivery platform founded by Sriharsha Majety is the fourth most valuable unlisted company with a valuation of Rs 88,600 crore, while Ritesh Agarwal’s OYO is at the second spot with a valuation of Rs 77,800 crore.

Harsh Jain’s Dream 11 comes with a value of Rs 66,200 crore, while Vijay Kantilal Chauhan’s Parle Products is seventh on the list with a value of Rs 62,600 crore. Harshil Mathur’s Razorpay is at the eighth position with a value of Rs 62,100 crore.

Bhavish Agarwal’s Ola with a value of Rs 60,500 crore and Nimish Chudgar-led Intas Pharmaceuticals with a value of Rs 59,300 crore are at the ninth and tenth positions.

Burgundy Pvt is the private banking business of Axis Bank, Hurun India released ‘2022 Burgundy Pvt Hurun India 500’. It ranks India’s 500 most valuable companies according to their valuation. The cut-off date for accessing this list was 30 October 2022.

“This year, the range for 2022 Burgundy Pvt to make Hurun India 500 was Rs 6,000 crore, which is 15 per cent higher than last year. That’s impressive, considering the cut-o to enter the Hurun Global 500 has come in at 23 percent. At this rate of growth, Burgundy Pvt could be close to Rs 10,000 crore in five years to enter the Hurun India 500 cut-off,” said Anas Rehman Junaid, managing director and chief researcher, Hurun India.
