Bollywood actor Shilpa Shetty has joined hands with online skilltech learning platform Hunar Online Courses as an investor and brand ambassador. The platform offers courses in areas such as fashion, food, beauty and photography.
According to a company statement, Hunar aims to strengthen and enhance these offerings – holistic and outcome-focused learning experience, leveraging and building its community, providing gigs and work-from-home opportunities and Creating business opportunities for its users with this partnership.
The statement further said that this collaboration will enable one lakh Indian women to achieve financial independence by 2023 through better skilling and entrepreneurship opportunities. Established in 2018, Hunar has also collaborated with ITC Aashirwad Atta and Natural Salon apart from conducting its own fashion show.
Hunar Online Courses has over 20 lakh women who want to become micropreneurs or solopreneurs.
A micropreneur refers to a businessman who handles his own sales and marketing and operates on a very small scale or a businessman who has no more than five employees. Solopreneurs are businessmen who manage everything on their own.
Commenting on this partnership, Nishtha Yogesh, Founder and CEO, Hunar Online Courses, said, “India has the potential to grow its GDP exponentially when India’s women are empowered to learn, grow and earn an income. The platform is provided. Women want to be financially independent and recognized for their skills, but do not have easy access to opportunities to learn or earn.
Shetty said, “As an independent woman, I believe that financial independence and having an individual source of income is important for the woman, her family and the country.”
