A SpiceJet flight from Jeddah made an emergency landing in Kochi following a hydraulic glitch and all passengers were safe, airport officials said on Friday. There were 197 passengers on board the flight.
A full emergency was declared at the airport after SpiceJet flight SG 036 from Jeddah to Calicut was diverted to Cochin airport at 6:29 pm on Friday due to hydraulic failure.
SpiceJet informed that the passengers will travel to Calicut from Dubai on a flight arriving as SG 17.
S Suhas, MD, Cochin International Airport said, “The airport was fully prepared to face the extreme emergency situation. The alerting structure was fully activated. As soon as the aircraft landed safely, after proper inspection The runway has been handed over to normal operations.”
