Elon Musk has taken a dig at his critics in one of his latest tweets. The billionaire shared a post taunting his critics who predicted Twitter would die. He said in his post, ‘Shouldn’t Twitter have ended by now or something…?’ He also shared some memes to make his point.
Last week, Twitter saw an exodus of employees after Elon Musk issued an ultimatum asking them to act “hardcore” or quit and take severance pay. Many employees opted for the latter. ironically it led many trends on twitter Like #RIPTwitter, #GoodbyeTwitter, and more. Many were of the firm belief that Twitter could face outages or be in complete ruin without enough content moderators and staff to keep things running.

Elon Musk reportedly tried to retain the talent needed. Later, he posted that all the important people had stayed back, so he was not worried. Twitter also blocked access to its office buildings for employees, raising even greater doubts about the social media company’s existence. Not only did Twitter manage to run through the weekend, but it also reached a new record high. We can’t say for certain that the controversy surrounding Twitter was the reason for the rise in daily active users, but it did trigger a series of trends.
The company appears to have survived the turmoil of the weekend. However, Musk had to relaunch the modified Twitter Blue subscription indefinitely. They have not yet established a moderation council on the platform and it is highly unlikely that it will happen anytime soon. In a recent post, he claimed that ‘a large coalition of political/social activists’ had agreed not to try to kill Twitter by starving it of advertising revenue. But the other side apparently ‘broke the deal’ and this may be the reason why there can be no Moderation Council. Strangely, Musk later decided to delete the tweet.
