Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath will visit Davos, Switzerland in January to attend the World Economic Forum (WEF) meeting. As per news reports, Yogi, the first chief minister of UP, will be accompanied by a delegation of senior officials of the state’s industries department attending the meeting.
The WEF annual meeting, which will be held between January 16 and 20 next year, brings together leaders from government, business and civil society to address the state of the business world and discuss the agenda for the coming year .
Invest UP, which oversees the state’s investment promotion, has been asked to look into travel arrangements and seek the help of industry body the Confederation of Indian Industry (CII).
The summit is significant for the Yogi Adityanath government in UP as it has set a target of creating a trillion dollar economy by the end of 2027. The chief minister is expected to invite investors from across the world to invest in the state.
Besides CII, the Federation of Indian Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FICCI) has been roped in for the event, which attracts investments of over Rs 10 lakh crore on an average.
For the upcoming event, the Deputy Chief Minister, senior cabinet ministers and officials of the Uttar Pradesh government will travel to 19 cities in 17 countries between December 9 and 19.
One District One Sports Scheme of UP
On Thursday, CM Yogi Adityanath launched One District One Sport (ODOS), which is based on the highly successful One District One Product (ODOP) scheme of the central government.
According to a press release from the Chief Minister’s Office (CMO), under ODOS, one sport will be identified in each of the 75 districts of UP and district-specific sports-specific talent will be discovered and enabled to hone their skills. Necessary steps will be taken for the same. To represent in District, State, National and International level tournaments and championships.
